Born in Philadelphia and raised in South Florida, Dr. Henry B. Huson has always led with curiosity, creativity, and compassion, the traits that now shape the way he practices medicine. He earned his undergraduate degree from Florida State University before returning to complete medical school at the Florida State University College of Medicine, where he was honored with the Robin McDougall Access to Care Award for his commitment to underserved patients and the Robert D. Snyder, MD Award for outstanding achievement in general surgery, with special focus on breast surgery.
His surgical training began at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, where he completed his general surgery residency, was twice named Resident of the Year, and was recognized by the Gold Humanism Honor Society, an honor reserved for physicians who exemplify integrity and compassion in patient care. He then completed his plastic surgery residency at the University of Cincinnati, serving as Chief Resident and earning system-wide UC Health recognition for outstanding patient experience along the way.

People, not procedures
For Dr. Huson, plastic surgery has never been just about procedures. It is about people. His philosophy blends technical artistry with humanism, focused on enhancing each patient’s natural beauty while honoring who they already are.
Patients know him for listening closely, explaining thoroughly, and guiding every decision with honesty rather than pressure. Education is at the center of every visit. He believes an informed patient is an empowered one.
Outside the OR
Culinary school, Seminoles, and mythology
Away from the operating room, Dr. Huson brings the same creativity into the kitchen. He trained in culinary school and still loves to bake. A proud Florida State alum, he is an avid Seminoles football fan, and when he is not reading up on Greco-Roman history and mythology, he is spending time with his wife and their two daughters, who ground his commitment to family-centered care.

“My passion as a plastic surgeon is to provide safe, high-quality care that enhances a patient’s natural beauty while staying true to who they are. I don’t believe plastic surgery should change someone into a different person. It should help them feel more confident in their own skin. For me, the foundation of excellent care has always been humanism in medicine: listening deeply, treating each patient with compassion, and respecting their unique goals and story. That approach shapes every consultation, every procedure, and every relationship I build with my patients.”
