About the procedure
Preservé is a branded approach to breast augmentation intended to limit tissue disruption when creating the implant pocket. It still requires an incision, implant placement, and a recovery period. Tissue preservation is a design goal, not a guarantee that nerves, milk ducts, or sensation will be unaffected.
Dr. Huson offers office augmentation for selected patients. Ask which exact implant and instruments are proposed, their current U.S. labeling, and why the approach fits your anatomy. Product names and availability can differ between countries. A smaller incision or a reported faster recovery does not remove the risks associated with implants.
Good candidates
- Patients considering implant augmentation after a breast health assessment
- Anatomy suitable for the proposed implant and pocket
- Realistic goals that fit the available device options
- Acceptance of implant monitoring and possible future surgery
Candidacy is confirmed at your consultation. Dr. Huson will tell you honestly if a different approach would serve you better.

What to expect
Your consultation
The consultation reviews your goals, medical history, medications, nicotine use, and examination findings. Discuss alternatives, the proposed setting and anesthesia, realistic changes, costs, and the support you will need during recovery.
The procedure
The technique uses specialized instruments for pocket preparation and implant placement through an incision. Ask for the exact U.S. device labeling and how the approach differs from the other options proposed.
Recovery
Recovery varies even with a technique intended to limit tissue disruption. Swelling, pain, and activity restrictions still occur. Ask for written instructions instead of relying on advertised return-to-activity timelines.
Risks and limitations
- Implants can rupture, develop capsular contracture, shift, or require removal. Changes in nipple sensation and breastfeeding can occur.
- Rare implant-associated cancers and reported systemic symptoms need discussion alongside infection, scarring, and the possibility of further operations.
This is not a complete list. Your clinician should explain the risks of the specific procedure and anesthesia, including bleeding, infection, healing problems, and any medical factors that change your risk.
Other options
Fat transfer may suit a modest volume change when donor fat is available. A lift addresses drooping rather than volume alone. You can also choose no surgery after comparing the tradeoffs.
Planning your consultation
Bring your medication list and relevant medical history. Ask about the facility, anesthesia team, follow-up, time away from work, and help at home. Request an itemized estimate covering the procedure, anesthesia, facility, and any additional care; confirm coverage directly if insurance may apply.
Common questions
Bring the rest to your consultation. There is no such thing as too many.
What does tissue preservation mean?
It describes the intended approach to limiting tissue disruption. It does not guarantee intact sensation, milk production, or freedom from complications.
Which implant will be used?
Confirm the exact model, size range, and current U.S. labeling with the practice. International Motiva product descriptions may refer to different devices.
Does Preservé avoid long term implant risks?
No. Monitoring and the possibility of rupture, capsular contracture, or another operation still apply.
